Marketing strategy to boost sales

The best way to promote sales among existing customers is to find new use for your product. For e.g. an aluminum company that supplies automobile body parts can encourage existing customers to also use the same material for other automobile subassemblies. The other way to produce a thrust in your sales is by strengthening the client base. Getting existing customers to buy more is the fastest way to grow.

Getting existing customers to buy more

Want fries with that?

It's a great way to build your company and your profits, but from a broader perspective - aren't you just contributing to the growing plague of overconsumption? It's all about convincing people to buy more than they really want or need.

I agree

I agree that keeping your existing customer is one of the way for greater number of sales . But existing customer will stay if the product and after sales services satisfies them. If first impression is OK then they will buy again and may also refer other customers . If we like a shampoo we will refer it to our friends . This inturn will increase the sales of the shampoo.

The rule of thumb I have heard is that it always costs more to land a new customer than it does to keep existing ones happy. I have seen so many small businesses investing in landing new customers while spending just a tiny amount of time and money on keeping current ones happy. It also pays to advertise to current customers so that they are aware of everything you do. If they came to you for one service, they might not know you perform a lot of other services too.

Getting people to buy more than they want or need won't benefit you in the long run. They will realize this. Give your current customers the customer service they deserve.
Keep in mind that Bad word or mouth travels faster than Good word of mouth.
Be good to your customers and advertise to them first. Then go after the new business.

Yeah that's true. Just give your customers enough to satisfy their needs, and then if you want suggestively sell to go past their needs. If they get extra, then that's fine. But if not, you already satisfied their needs. You shouldn't try to sell more to them if their needs aren't satisfied, and you shouldn't try to trick the customers. Your number one priority should always be satisfying the customers.
