Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity)
Wi-Fi is short code for Wireless Fidelity. It is considered as a permutation to wired LAN (Local Area Network). Primarily, it was intended for use in mobile devices and LAN, but now, Wi-Fi is globally used for Internet access.
Several places such as airports, hotels and other services offer public access to Wi-Fi networks so that people can log onto the Internet and receive emails on the move. This concept is referred as Hotspots.
