About Open Systems Interconnection (OSI)

OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) is a networking standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), along with the ITU-T. It provides seven-layered architecture for network communication. The seven layers – Application, Presentation, Session, Transport, Network, Data-Link and Physical interacts with the corresponding layers in the communicating machines for the transfer of data.
